Sunday August 12, 2024 was a bittersweet day for Calvary Baptist Church as Rev. Dr. Fred McCloskey preached his final sermon, having announced his retirement the previous June. For many in his congregation, Pastor Fred was the only pastor they had ever known as he had served as senior pastor for an impressive 38 years. Pastor Fred’s tenure is among the longest in the last 50 years in Venture Church Network Mid-Atlantic, and innumerable lives were impacted for Jesus in his long ministry.
Pastor Fred and wife Robin have retired to New Mexico to live near their children and grandchildren and look forward to the next season of life and ministry. Whatever that season will be, they know it will be a good deal warmer than the Western PA winters!
