Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”  Psalm 116:15

Sue Grimes thanks friends and family for prayers and expressions of sympathy at the passing of her husband, Pastor Jim Grimes (founding Pastor of The Carpenter’s Community Church).  Following are some excerpts from her recent posting:

“I’d like to share now how the Lord has been working in this.  Jim was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s ten years ago.  I often prayed that his passing would not be long and painful.  The past four years Jim has been a resident at Gracedale (Nursing Home), where he received very good care and just the right medications, to keep him walking and very content, even happy.  I recently said he was probably the happiest man in Gracedale!  The staff there reported that Jim sometimes would visit and sit with the family of a resident who was passing!  He was still being Pastor Jim!  March 10th was the last day I was able to visit Jim, as Gracedale closed to the public the next day.  When I called to check on Jim, he was his happy self, up until the (COVID-19) virus struck on April 14th….I am at peace with God’s time and His hand in how Jim passed.  It seems that he did not suffer very much, and the Lord rescued him to Heaven at just the right time….Now we can celebrate together the years we had with Jim.”
