… helping our network churches take their bold next steps

Amazing Grace Community Church members (pastored by Donnie Davis) meet at a non-operational Christian campground having services under a pavilion by a lake when the weather is good and at a local school when weather turns cold.  In the past few years, they have been laying the groundwork for a ministry to Veterans returning from combat areas such as Afghanistan and Iraq.  They are now building tiny houses for Vets on the campground property and Donnie appeared on Kellie Pickler’s “Pickler & Ben” show to talk about this “Tiny House Community for Veterans” and what God is doing there.  They have been on the news in the local area and are getting good publicity in social media. Home Depot partnered with the ministry (called Operation Safe Haven) by donating lumber and materials.

Donnie is now a certified Police Chaplain, with years of police experience in Baltimore.  He is helping his fellow chaplains understand what it is to be a policeman, while they help him learn what it is to be a chaplain.  This is an unusual man with an unusual ministry, partnering with God in reaching his community.

Offered as part of VCNMA’s ministry initiative MERG
