COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Imagine facing these challenging and deeply personal moments: you’re invited to the wedding of a gay family member or friend, two men walk into your Sunday service holding hands, you discover your new neighbors are a couple, in which one is a trans man having children the same age as yours, or your daughter comes to you and boldly reveals she is gay. How should you, as a believer, respond with love, truth, and wisdom in these real-life situations

At Venture Churches, our commitment to Biblical truth is unwavering: Scripture clearly teaches that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman, and anything outside this boundary sinfully falls short of God’s design. Yet, the heart of the matter is not simply holding these convictions, but living them out with compassion, integrity, and wisdom in our daily relationships. The question we must honestly face is: how do we faithfully represent these truths with both truth and grace as commanded in Ephesians 4:15?  To address that question, this course will share practical, scriptural principles that equip you to navigate your role in four essential areas: Your Community, Your Personal Relationships, Your Family, and Your Church. Each area presents unique opportunities to act with wisdom and courage, demonstrating genuine love even in such difficult circumstances. While there are no simple, universal answers to every scenario, God’s Word lights the path—providing clear direction for making decisions that are consistent with your beliefs while helping you build relationships marked by grace and respect.

Our presenter is Keith Boyer—an experienced pastor and counselor with over 41 years of experience in pastoral roles and Biblical counseling. Trained by leading Christian counselors, Drs. Larry Crabb and Dan Allender. Dr. Boyer holds a Master of Biblical Counseling, a Master of Divinity from Grace Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.
